SNOW TUBING ANNOUNCEMENT – DECEMBER 2019
There are some changes coming to Spring Mountain and we have some news to share about snow tubing. We could just make the announcement without explanation, but our customers are like our family and we want you to understand why the change is happening. Our insurance renews each year at the beginning of December. Since our insurance coverage is one of our major expenses, we decided that we had to shop it with several companies. As it turned out the company that we had been with for years raised our liability insurance by almost 50%. We decided to go with a new insurance company which will cost us about what we paid last year but they do not insure Tubing. We simply do not do enough Tubing business to cover the added expense charged by our old insurance company.
We understand that this will be disappointing news to many of you who have made snow tubing at Spring Mountain a yearly tradition. We are taking this opportunity to add some exciting new terrain for our Skiers & Boarders and also some brand new & even more affordable options for you and your family to learn and to enjoy the lifelong skill of skiing or riding. This, after all, is why we got into this business in the first place. Skiing has been such a big part of our lives and has brought so much happiness to our family. We love to hear stories from all of you about how you learned to ski at Spring Mountain. We did too! And we want to make sure that tradition goes on and on for many years and generations to come.
There will be some announcements in the next few days about our new group and lesson options and we are working on what we hope will be a big announcement for Winter 2021. Our hope is that our snow tubing customers will make 2020 the year they learn a new Winter Sport! In the meantime, we know that there will be a lot of questions and concerns about gift cards & bookings. Rest assured, we will take care of you. As we go into the holidays and the opening of our season, we ask for your patience as we figure out this transition. Your support for your local mountain is what keeps us going.
